HISTORY
In 1952 Adreana Riggio, with her husband, Pasquale, two sons and two daughters opened a little storefront pizzeria in the Northcenter neighborhood of Chicago. It was an era when, hard as it is to believe, pizzerias were not on every corner. In fact, Riggio's was one of the first pizzeria restaurants to open in Chicago.
Today fifty-six years later, the family carries on the proud heritage of the woman who everyone called “Mama.” Many of those neighborhood children return, enjoying those original recipes, remembering the deliciously familiar tastes and smells of Mama’s cooking. Our customers are our family, dining on Riggio’s both traditional and innovative dishes inspired by La Terra del Sole: The Land of the Sun. |
